Professional Lawn Turfing Services in Maidstone
Laying fresh turf offers a rapid garden transformation, delivering an instant established lawn within a single day instead of the months required for seed germination. The longevity and health of your new turf depends entirely on thorough preparation and consistent aftercare.
Ground Preparation for Turfing
Our process begins with comprehensive clearance of existing vegetation and removal of all debris—including old turf, stubborn roots, and stones that would otherwise compromise surface evenness. The ground requires rotavating to eliminate compaction, especially crucial on new-build sites where construction machinery has compressed the soil.
Supplementing with quality topsoil frequently becomes essential. Our target depth ranges from 100-150mm of premium topsoil, providing adequate space for grass roots to establish a strong foundation. Substandard soil inevitably produces inferior lawns, irrespective of turf quality. We meticulously level and grade the area, incorporating gentle slopes away from structures to avoid water accumulation.
Prior to turf installation, the prepared ground receives final raking and gentle consolidation—achieving firmness that supports foot traffic without excessive sinking, whilst avoiding hard compaction.
Alongside our turfing services in Maidstone, we provide additional solutions for your garden, including artificial grass installations, fence installations and more.

We had our driveway extended, new garden steps and path installed by Joseph and his team and they did a fantastic job. They all worked so hard and it looks amazing. Highly recommend!
Thoroughly impressed with Joe and his team who recently completed my driveway in Ashford, arrived on time, completed the job promptly & amazing finish.
Outstanding service, highly recommend!
I had been looking to get our drive done for some time and was lucky enough to find JD drive style. Joseph and his team were incredibly efficient, well priced and did a fantastic job on our drive. Would highly recommend
Joe and his team block paved a parking area at the front of my house this morning. I absolutely cannot praise them enough. A very reasonable price for a fantastic job. From lawn to paved in about 5 hours! No skips required and all materials collected as they needed them. They were so amazing my husband is getting them to come back again and give our back garden a complete makeover. You honestly couldn't wish for a nicer more hardworking team. Thank you Joe. See you again soon.
I had the lower part of my potholed driveway resurfaced to a SMA tarmac finish. It was originally covered in gravel, like the top part, but the slope at the lower end is so pronounced that gravel kept rolling down onto the road and vehicles (particularly heavy trucks) had difficulty getting up the steep slope without spinning their wheels and digging more holes. Joseph advised on the best solution, and he and his team carried out the work incredibly quickly and efficiently this morning before the rain came. I was happy with both the price and the work.
Joseph and his team did a fantastic job on our patio, their quote was reasonable and they were able to get the job done very quickly, Joseph runs his team like a military operation! As well as helping me secure the best price on the materials (which we sourced) they were so efficient and clean on site, with attention to detail as well. We would highly recommend JD Drivestyle and will be using them again very soon for other projects!
Joseph and his team have done a great job - they put down a nice concrete patio in my garden for my garden shed. They were efficient, professional & courteous. Job well done !
Joseph was very quick to answer our initial query and came and quoted the same day (never heard from the other firm I called for a quote). They were always easy to get hold of for any queries we had before the work started, and they widened our driveway and tarmacked it in the same day. All the workers were constantly busy, and were courteous and polite. The work was exceptional and they cleared any debris up before they left. A job well done 😊
We asked Joseph to quote for resin paths around our house and he responded rapidly with a competitive price. In just a day his skilled team prepared the surfaces, laid brick edging and applied the resin, matching our existing drive perfectly. When an incompetent supplier failed to deliver the bricks on time, creating a potential crisis, Joseph went miles out of his way to collect the necessary materials so that the work kept to schedule, remaining calm and professional throughout. Great work!
Joseph and his team really efficient, professional, and conscientious. They repaired a number of broken or subsided parts along the entire length on our long drive. One part does need further attention but Joseph will be over to sort this in the next couple of weeks. Highly recommend
